New Dark Tower Comic: Excerpt from The Prisoner

Stephen King’s official Dark Tower Website just published a seven-page excerpt from “The Prisoner” Issue 1, the beginning of the new Dark Tower comic adaptation of the book “The Drawing of the Three”. Release date according to Marvel will be September 3rd in the US. Here’s the link to a PDF containing the excerpt.

Comic Cover for The Prisoner Issue #3 Revealed

Marvel just revealed the cover for issue #3 of the five-issue miniseries “The Prisoner”. Release is announced for October 2015.

The Prisoner is the first 5-issue story-arc of Marvels adapation of Stephen King’s Dark Tower book “The Dark Tower: The Drawing of the Three”.

The Prisoner – Comic Cover #2 Revealed

Marvel just revealed the cover for issue #2 of the five-issue miniseries “The Prisoner”. Release date will be September 17th, two weeks after the premiere of issue #1.

The Prisoner is first 5-issue story-arc of Marvels adapation of Stephen King’s Dark Tower book “The Dark Tower: The Drawing of the Three”.

Changes in the drawing style are due to the new Marvel illustrator artists, Piotr Kowalski and Nick Filardi.

This new piece of Marvels adaptation of Stephen King’s magnum opus “hits in print and digital form on September 3rd”.

Here’s the first cover (artwork by Piotr Kowalski)  of “The Dark Tower: The Drawing of the Three: The Prisoner”. It will be released on September 3rd by Marvel, being the first issue of a five-issue comic book miniseries.

Comic Adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower – The Drawing of the Three Announced

three-daad5At the end of last year, it seemed as the Dark Tower comic book adaptation had come to an end. But as announced today by Peter David on his Emerald City Comicon Secret Origins panel, Marvel will continue the series and adapt the next Dark Tower book, “The Dark Tower: The Drawing of the Three”. The first 5-issue story-arc will be named “The Prisoner”.

He further announced that Piotr Kowalski will take over the illustrator job. As in previous issues, Robin Furth and Peter David will be responsible for the texts.

This is the first Dark Tower comic book published only as softcover, book 1-10 previously were published as soft- and hardcover. It currently is unclear if there will later be any hardcover edition.

Also, it still seems to be unclear if there will be any future Dark Tower Comics. The next consequent step would be to continue with the next book, “The Drawing of the Three”.
