A New Dark Tower Book by Stephen King?

As reported yesterday by Liljas Library, Stephen King himself mentioned recently that there might be one more Dark Tower book.

Stephen King was asked a few days before in an interview with the Rolling Stone, “Are you done writing Dark Tower books?” and replied:

“I’m never done with The Dark Tower. The thing about The Dark Tower is that those books were never edited, so I look at them as first drafts. And by the time I got to the fifth or sixth book, I’m thinking to myself, “This is really all one novel.” It drives me crazy. The thing is to try to find the time to rewrite them. There’s a missing element – a big battle at a place called Jericho Hill. And that whole thing should be written, and I’ve thought about it several times, and I don’t know how to get into it.”
Read the complete interview here.

So we might read a new Dark Tower book enlighting Rolands youth at a greater detail one day, and learn more about the Fall of Gilead and the Battle at Jericho Hill.

An Update About The Dark Tower Movie by Stephen King Himself

Stephen King just talked at MTV News about the Dark Tower movie adaptation. In case you do not see the video below, watch it at MTV or at Liljas Library. He indeed is pretty conviced it will come one day and is not surprised at all that it takes so long to adapt his magnum opus to the big screen.

Dark Tower Movie Adaptation Delayed

Chris Hewitt (Empire Magazine) recently met Ron Howard at the premiere of his movie Rush in London. The resulting interview with the potential director/producer of the upcoming Dark Tower movies, Ron Howard, can be found here (Sound Cloud audio, fast-forward to minute 46 to re-hear the relevant passages). You further can find a brief summary on darktowermovies.com.

Outline: The project is still alive, but delayed, and it will take some more time to finally realize the ambitious Dark Tower movie project. Ron Howard also said he will not discuss more details about the movie right now, and he won`t give any timetable for the project.

The latter one, of course, makes totally sense because many previous dates for the Dark Tower movie production/filming were not met in the past years. After all, nothing really new about the movie adaption of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower book series, but at least it doesn’t seem to be dead.
